A practice shaped by care, insight, and experience.
John Cantwell is a Melbourne-based psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. He is committed to providing respectful, trauma-informed care that meets clients where they are. John believes that positive therapeutic outcomes begin with a strong, trusting relationship, and his work is grounded in empathy, evidence, and collaboration.
John has worked in a wide range of clinical settings, including five years at the Royal Children’s Hospital, and more recently with the Australian Childhood Foundation and Headspace. These roles have allowed him to support individuals and families navigating everything from anxiety and depression to trauma, neurodiversity, and life transitions.
He is particularly experienced in supporting neurodivergent clients — including those with Autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities — and frequently works with individuals accessing therapy through the NDIS.
